Cooperative Learning, sometimes called small-group learning, is an instructional strategy in which small groups of students work together on a common task. Cooperative Learning helps students be able to communicate effectively with others, work well with others, and have some responsibilities in your classroom. The parameters often vary, as students can work collaboratively on a variety of problems, ranging from simple math problems to large assignments such as proposing environmental solutions on a national level. John Hattie updated his list of 138 effects to 150 effects in Visible Learning for Teachers (2011), and more recently to a list of 195 effects in The Applicability of Visible Learning to Higher Education (2015).
